A very happy end of year to you all. I don't know about you but the year has just flown!It's been a busy and productive year for us and we look forward to a break over summer while also planning for 2018.
We had our Christmas party last week where we puzzled our way (some more than others) through the escape rooms at Perplexity and then sat down to a gorgeous lunch at Zealong Tea Estate. I reflected that we really don't do enough team things as it's often hard to get everyone together at one time and workloads often mean there's little time. When we do though it's always fabulous and we appreciate these times to share stories and enjoy being together as a team. My resolution is to make sure we do more of these in 2018.
At HR Connect we have had some great things happen this year. We partnered with a fabulous marketing company, Metro Marketing and now have a new website amongst other new tools. We're excited about our new look which focuses on bringing colour back to HR - we're not just "black & white". Another new development is that we are now the Waikato / Bay of Plenty partner for enableHR. This HRIS system is a fantastic tool for businesses of all sizes to capture their employee and health & safety information and make the data work for them.
In July we welcomed Catherine Darby to the team. After extensive recruitment experience overseas and in New Zealand, we were very excited to have Catherine join our team and we've certainly put her to good use!
The change in Government has meant changes are in the pipeline for both employers and employees...2018 will be interesting with Trial Periods, union matters, immigration and wage rates all on the table.
