October 2019 - Hellos and a Goodbye..
As the year moves along we are finally seeing signs of Spring and with it a bit more of a spring in our steps to boot.
We've had some people changes here at HR Connect, and whilst we welcome new faces we also say good bye to an old one.After eight years with us, Denise Thomas accepted a permanent position as Head of People and Capability with our client, Waikato Milking Systems (WMS). Denise has been instrumental in the growth of HR Connect making it the company it is today, and her pragmatic and dedicated support to our clients has seen their businesses flourish. Whilst we were sad to see her go, we know how lucky WMS is to have her and we wish her all the best in her new role.
Filling her very big shoes, we don't have one but three new faces joining the team.We welcome Ronnie Briggs; Judy Clement and Claire Pilton to HR Connect. Please read more about them below.
We are involved in a large number of recruitment projects at the moment and while this is showing us that business confidence is still strong, a real lack of suitable candidates continues to hamper the market. We are at nearly full employment, and the challenge for business owners and managers remains to retain and engage their people, whilst building a strong employment brand to attract talent. We are more than happy to talk to you about how best to do this within your business.With a spotlight on retention, we have also seen a rise in employees wanting more from the employment relationship. Career growth and personal development seems to be very much on the cards. We are seeing demand from Employers seeking support and coaching for their people; to invest in their growth and development. To this end, we have engaged Judy Clement as a coach to support employee growth.
